Below are some of the most commonly asked questions. If you have any additional questions that are not answered below, please feel free to contact me.
Q: How much do you charge?
A: I have a service call fee (depends on distance), which includes the trip to your home or business, and all of the time necessary to assess the issue and calculate an upfront price for the repair or installation. Many plumbers have a service call fee which only covers the trip, and then they begin charging for their time as soon as they walk in the door. I calculate the price based upon how long the job actually takes, so nobody has to worry about the time.
Q: Do you give free estimates?
A: No. I am a small business, and don't have a salesman to drive around giving free estimates (which often inflates the overall cost).
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: Check or cash. I keep things simple.
Q: Do you offer a warranty on your work?
A: Parts provided by Matt the Plumber are guaranteed against defects in materials or workmanship for a period of one year from the date of installation.
Q: Are you licensed?
A: Yes, a few times over. I carry a "Pennsylvania Home Improvement Contractor's License," which makes my business legal. Additionally, I am a licensed "Master Plumber," which means I have the requisite experience, and I passed the test. It is helpful to have when working in some jurisdictions.
